The scorching heat off the mountain has risen to hit our cooler air in Big Bear and has created the rain showers that us locals love this time of year. Every day this week we have had rain and in some areas flash flooding. Be prepared if you will be hiking, camping or off roading. The rain has brought some of the wonderful things that I love about Big Bear and was able to drag me away from my work to enjoy it all. Hundreds of baby frogs were jumping all over my street and yard after one of the rain storms.

Monday we saw rainbows all over the Valley:

Thursday we saw what we think is Simba the baby eagle but it could be Stormy, not sure. All you eagle cam people may know, see below.

Buyers are buying and homes are selling! With interest rates dropping buyers are ready to make the drive and get out of the heat. I have shown 5 different buyers this week and wrote offers on them all. Here are the market stats: There are currently 621 homes, condos and manufactured homes on the market in all areas of Big Bear. In the last 30 days 104 sold and 156 went into escrow. This home I have for sale fell out of escrow so my seller has reduced it to $235k and it has appraised for $242,000. Least expensive home in Moonridge and there is definitely money to be made if you fix the deck and update this home. 746 Villa Grove is 681 sq. ft; 2 beds, 1 bath with amazing view of forest on a 7,499 sq. ft. lot. I already have a termite inspection and home inspection to pass along to a new buyer.
