Will Housing Prices Come Down?

This is a question I have been getting asked everywhere I go, “Will housing prices come down?” What goes up must go down right? Not always… however there are certain factors that cause home prices to go down, here are a few:
1) Interest rates go up
2) Inventory goes up
3) Stock market crash
4) Natural disaster
5) Terrorist attack
Currently, interest rates have gone up .25% and are expected to go up more. In the Spring time, Big Bear Valley always gets more inventory. We are already up to 109 homes on the market and on March 5, there were only 79 homes. Out of the 109 homes currently on the market, 81 of them are under $1 million a big difference to last month where there were only 43 homes under $1 million.

Bensweather.com Forecast Updated: Wednesday, Mar 31 @ 10:03pm
Increasing high cloudiness overnight with light winds as lows cool to the 20’s. A weak upper-level disturbance will drift northeast through southern California tomorrow with enough moisture and instability to bring the potential for an isolated shower or thunderstorm just about anywhere. Keep a watchful eye to the sky if outdoors as a few thundershowers could develop, especially over the mountains during the afternoon, warmer with highs in the 60’s. Temperatures will continue to climb through the end of the week into the weekend with highs nearing 70-degrees on Friday. A weak offshore flow will also persist through the weekend holding temperatures above average with dry weather into early next week. A trough of low pressure is forecast to deepen off the west coast next week leading to cooler temperatures and gusty west winds at times with no rain or snow forecast at this time. When traveling to the mountains, always be prepared for rapidly changing, winter weather driving conditions and carry tire chains.
